Entropy — what does it mean?

Entropy measures password randomness in bits. The more bits, the harder it is to guess by brute force.

How it works

  1. 1The browser downloads the wordlist file from the server (once).
  2. 2Randomness comes from crypto.getRandomValues().
  3. 3The selected words are joined according to your settings.
  4. 4The passphrase is never sent to the server — it stays on your device.

Security assumptions

  • Runs fully locally
  • Nothing is sent to the server
  • No history is stored
  • Cryptographically secure randomness
  • Works offline after first load
